I am currently working for Tech Data Europe (Nasdaq: TECD) as an European ESD Consultant with focus on business development. Vision and strategy on how to sell software is changing, which has a direct effect on the business processes of retailers and e-tailers. My main target is to enable European Top retailers and e-tailers to sell Electronic Software Download products like Microsoft Office 365 through Tech Data’s ESD Platform as part of their software category strategy.
Tech Data enables retailers and e-tailers to move from physical software boxes to downloadable and Print-to-Receipt products for their entire software and games portfolio. This transition will have an effect on how to sell software to end-users, and how to manage the digital category from a retailer’s perspective. Attach sales (online and offline) is the key driver for software sales in retail.
I provide advice and guidance to the local Tech Data organisations in Europe regarding selling the ESD concept to their customers.
The ESD solution will affect various business processes. Customer service, IT (website and ERP), purchase, finance and supply chain will be involved. Digital products require different setups and a real 24/7 approach.
By visiting customers I advise them on how to implement the Tech Data ESD solution properly. Advise them how to start the process and how to onboard is one of the primairy goals.
